A Data Storing, Fitness, Accessibility, Awareness App
Medify - Data Storing, Fitness, Accessibility, Awareness App
3 weeks
Medify represents two notions, "Medicine" and "Simplify". Borne from its name, Medify aims to simplify the means of looking at the variety of available medical services into a singular digitized process-based platform.
Primary Research
Objective - to understand the problems faced by people in the health sector.
Medium - surveys through questionnaires (60 responses)
Secondary Research
Objective - to get a broad overview of the problems in the health and medicine industry in India
Medium - research papers and articles
Lack of knowledge about medicines - their side effects, chemical compositions, alternatives for the medicine.
Keeping track of medicines intake schedules.
Keeping a track of medical history and tediously filing it every time you change a doctor or visit a hospital, sometimes creating problems in emergency situations.
Keeping track of health on a daily basis - noticing irregularities in functioning.
Unavailability of beds in hospital. Having to wait in lines during cases of emergencies to get a bed.
Logo - The logo is a combination of icons which define the versatility of the app. The report symbol, the plus sign, the stethoscope represent the features embedded in the app.
Color Palette - I have used blue as a part of the primary colors to give the whole app a clean and clinical feel. Black, grey and white have been used to give the app depths and create visual hierarchy.
The secondary color palette is of soft vibrant pastel colors to keep the image of a friendly brand.
Fonts -Roboto has been used throughout the app in different weights. Since it's a mobile app, readability will be better in sans - serif fonts.
*Note - This is the design of the app that the users would be using to view their own data. Another app to handle the backend connection of the hospitals to upload and update information is not covered in this study.*
This comprehensive features comes with a dynamic informative interface about medicines and their information (the side effects, uses, chemical composition of the drugs, and cheaper general alternative for medicines available in the market) for user to make informed decisions. It also allows the user to set alarms personalized according to their intake of pharmacologic drugs.
The reports feature lets the user store the history of prescriptions and pathological reports in a chronological or a suitable order. This feature scans the prescriptions and the lab reports and creates a backup for the hard copy.
This data is uploaded by the hospitals through another backend app which connects both the apps data. The app also serves with chronic medical history and insurance information at the time of the emergency.
Through this feature a user can check the availability of beds in hospitals near him. It also provides you with an option to read about the equipments, doctors and reviews. This information is uploaded, updated and made available through the backend hospital app.
This feature helps you record your step count, heart rate, sleep cycle and warns you in any case of anomalies. You can connect this app to your fitness band as well.
1. Collaborate with physical fitness monitor watches like Fitbit, to combine and create an ecosystem and scale features like fitness and alarms.
2. Research on problems faced during and post - pandemic and expand the app to accommodate the needs that had arose. For eg. We saw a need for a common platform to communicate availability of medical resources like oxygen cylinders, oximeters etc. during the pandemic.
